CSS Revival

Post by Grimmie »

We tried playing CSS a little while back, and managed to get a decent 5v5 going. I think that a change of mapcycle might make things interesting.

I can't remember them all, but what sort of additions would you all like to see?
The ones I remember are;

de_nuke, de_train, de_dust2

There's one that starts off in a river on the terrorist side, and progresses into a ruined mansion, quite a big map but I rather like it. I think it's the one from the stress test demo on the main menu.

Assault/compound/militia/italy/office are fun, and good regulars, but get a bit tiring after a while.

Might just be worth sticking all the maps that aren't currently on the cycle on there, and swapping the curent ones out, so we can test them all out again and see which ones we like?

Zombie chicken hide and seek mode!

editz - okay, I realise that's just silly. I enjoy a bit of sauce now and then, I didn't play it to death like a lot of you did though. I'm terrible at the map names but we do seem to stay on one map for too long.

I'd also like Zombie Mod back BUT only if people don't start shouting for it on TS 5 seconds into a CSS game.

How difficult is it to implement one of those map voting systems?

I think a hunt for CS 1.6 map remakes would be nice, there are some maps that never made the cross over.

de_inferno I think was one. As was the one on the dam (might have been inferno).

I do get bored playing dust/office/italy all the time.

Piransi and cbble (did that cross over) are good.

de_train is a good one though.

I love train.

However, I loathe Shitaly. I'm pretty sure that's where most games end as well.

Map cycle fettles can be done, work that out between yourselves.

I'll work on getting an admin thing setup so we can have map votes.

Zombie mod can fuck off and die in a fire, It's problematic from an admin point of view, and no matter what we say on the forum, some fuck will whine for it after 10 minutes.

CSS is a mod of HL2!

You can't mod a mod, everybody knows that.

Are we left with de_dust(2) as the only map that no one hates yet?

Far be it from me to state the obvious, but if everyone quits a game because they don't like the map then you're going to end up with an empty server. I hated German Town in COD, but I put up with it. The bath helped with that.

I'd be up for some old school css, it'll probably be better with the smaller maps considering how many are likely to play to start with though.

I'm away for one day and all hell breaks loose! What are you lot thinking of?
*slaps self* for daydreaming.

Whooooooooo :boogie: oooooooooooooooo :boogie: oooooooooooo :boogie: oooooooooooooo :boogie: 000000000000000

I think lots of maps and an easy voting system would work well.

Most voting systems seem to require a certain number of users to vote one way or another. Our server never has enough votes to do that so a basic "anyone can suggest a map to vote for" and "highest votes wins. no catches" would be good.

I CANT WAIT *jiggles* :excited:
*splufs* :faint:

I'm not quite sure that's possible.
