The media tag is a custom BBCode for the forums. It is used to embed flash-based video players from various websites.
To use, simply paste the URL of the video between the tags. For example: [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9RGU_8x0sU[/media]
Video players from the following providers are currently supported:-
- YouTube
- Google Videos
- DailyMotion
- GameTrailers (including user videos)
- Vimeo
- The Escapist
- Revver
- FunnyOrDie
- Xfire
Feel free to request additional providers!
Options
Users can toggle the behaviour of the media tag with an option in their profile.
If Allow Embedded Media is enabled, videos will be inserted as flash movies, ready to be activated. If the option is disabled, they will instead be presented with a red link to the video on the host's website.
In PDA Mode, embedding is automatically disabled.
