The '''5punk Skype Chat''' is an ongoing group chat room populated by a number of 5punk forum members on the internet telephony service [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skype Skype]. It was opened in mid September 2006 and takes advantage of Skype's ability to hold multiple members within a single room for an indefinite period, only releasing them from the session when they click the 'leave' button. If the window is closed traditionally with the windows 'close window' button then they will be pulled back into the conversation when they next start up skype, or when a message is posted.

Topics in the chat room vary greatly, from what people have been doing recently, to the arrival of the lovable [[Lunch Penguin]]. As of the 9th of May 2007 the chatroom title topic that appears in the windows taskbar is set to ''5punk - The Association of Weekday Pedants'', past titles including ''5punk - The Association of People Against Mondays'' and ''5punk - The Brian Blessed Appreciation Society''. Due to the nature of 5punkers, changing the Title Topic so that it displays an offensive message in a work environment has bought minutes of hilarity to the users of the room.
