'''Chives''' - weak onion flavour. Not really anything it can't work with unless the flavours get too rich. Salads, light sauces, chopped up and sprinkled as chef wank.

'''Coriander''' - every cuisine in the world with the possible exception of inuit types use this stuff. Leaves - gentle citrus lift, seeds - stronger citrus flavours with nutty overtones too, roots - kick to the face strength compared to the other two, used in thai stuff for the potency. All bits lose flavour quickly when picked/ground/chopped.

'''Dill''' - good for tea apparently, I wouldn't know, I'm not often away from red tea or earl grey. You've probably all seen it in pickle jars, it's good for fish sauces and with white meats. A bit in an oil/wine vinegar dressing is nice on greenery too. Gentle flowery flavour, bit grassy and lifting.

'''Lemongrass''' - lemony, bitter bright flavour for thai/oriental stuff. Pretty much essential when paired with chilli and galangal/ginger to make thai dishes. Goes very woody when dried, needs soaking. Don't let it get damp or it will go the same was as normal grass silage would, stink from all the unstable esters and whatnot.

'''Marjoram''' - tastes a bit like oregano but sweeter, very strong. Good in a herb crust on chicken.

'''Mint''' - pepper/spear/pennyroyal - good in thick spicy Mediterranean/near east cuisine. I'm a fan of this in a five bean/apricot/chick pea stew, handfuls of the stuff along with loads of coriander make a wonderful aroma, just drop it all in at the very last second.

'''Oregano''' - Another one for tomato sauces, classic in italian and mexican, so good in chillis etc. also, parasites don't like it, which is handy.

'''Rosemary''' - lamb gravy needs this stuff in. You can also chop it up weeny and bash it into butter for a wonderful herby butter. Strong, slightly astringent flavours, slightly cough medicine in large amounts. Adds depth and richness unless you use too much, then it adds toilet duck flavours. Possibly stops shaky old person mental diseases

'''Tarragon''' - sublime taste in rich fish sauces like veloute, quite strong aniseed flavour. Only needs a few wispy strands to get the flavour lacing through the sauce. Soggy bits taste fucking terrible, trim harshly.

Recently it was discovered that HereComesPete is a master at bio-chemical warfare, and that his very presence causes sales of gas masks to go up tenfold whenever the MoD let him out from their Yorkshire based bunker.

====Ty aka Sir Die AloTy====
Ty is one of the more colourful 5punkers. Often less than coherent for various reasons, we love his drunken ramblings. Once sported an impressive mohican and loves metal more than most 5punkers love CAEK and bummings. He used to die a lot, but worryingly he's started to improve lately. Maybe he's sobering up.

====Jockgit====
Probably 5punk's most senior member, but only more mature chronologically. Jockgit is famous for being able to fall asleep when and where no others could, often as a result of copious amounts of cheap alcohol. ====Friznit====
Friz is another EvE'er and is currently running (ie, shouting lots) the Eve corporation 5punkorp. He's an ex Tank Commander in the British Army, so if you anger him too much he'll call in some favours and you'll find your house crushed and tank tread marks over your lawn. Has a penchant for ponies.

====Amblin====
<s>Semi-retired EvE'er who has been partly groomed into playing computer games too, namely [[Call of Duty 4]]. He's also an expert in the art of Rainbow Kissing, ask him about it if you're curious. Keeps attempting to save money by declaring every Sunday that the new week is an alcohol free week, this usually lasts until Monday evening.</s> Stopped playing games and has left to focus on education.

5punk's resident whiner, nothing is ever all right to him. Also considers <s>Lateralus</s> <s>Chicken</s> <s>HereComesPete</s> all of the above his arch-nemesis. Comes from the country of constant hunger, Hungary. Due to an unpronounceable name, he is often called Mr. Bubbles, Derek, or just Bob. Believer and preacher of the Cow World Domination Cult. The current most junior member of 5punk, and he probably lives up to it a bit. Spending a lot of time recently drinking and smoking and chasing girls, possibly all at once.

Has his own band, 'Schrodinger's Mouse' and despite being a long term 5punker, doesn't play a lot of games due to teh AIDS. Was a flicky fringed emo, all black and white pictures and a need to mutter about bands selling out and going mainstream. Thankfully he became aware of how good binocular vision is and became a mod, now he tootles off to university on his vespa.

====Nickface====
Known widely as "The American who is most commonly mistaken for Deject." Has an amazing selection of hats. Is also a Reverend, so can marry you to a horse if you <s>so wish</s> mess around with him. Possibly. Creates TV channels for cable tv in merka using bits of string and coins with holes in.

====Sheriff Fatman====
Alcoholic layabout, sounds a bit like Chappers from Radio 1. Master of the "Gay Jump", likes creating characters that look like Joose in MMONGS and getting 13-year old boys to cyber him. Has a cat called Spazmo.

===Ingredients===
*Beef about 150-200g of mince/chopped beef (no bigger than thumbnail chunks ideally and not too lean) per person generally. I like to put in about 300g because I can eat chilli until I burst. Bit of fine chopped/blended liver if you want to up the richness, hard to spot if you make it very hot though.

*Onion (fist sized onion for 3/4 peeps)

*2/3 cloves garlic

*Tin of (chopped) tomato (you can smash them with a fork in the tin if you don't buy them chopped, be careful though or you'll get the juice everywhere)

*Cumin, smoked paprika, salt and pepper. (I generally put a few pinches on the raw meat just as it goes in the frying pan, and a few more after it's started simmering in the sauce pan.)

*Chili! Red, green, yellow, whatever colour you can get. Some nice big mild ones like habaneros to cut big and colour the dish, some mean ones like scotch bonnets or bird eye to give it the heat. Want to die by fire? Try the naga chili, for less death apply momentarily to sauce, then remove.

'''Other bits''' - stock cube, Jack Daniels, sour cream.

Chop everything finely except a few milder chilis, cut them in big bits or leave them whole.

In heavy bottom pan* put the tin of tomato, put your stock cube in the tin, three quarters full from the boiled kettle, throw it in the pan too. Bring to simmer.

Put a kettle of water on.

Beef, finely chopped onion, garlic, oil into pan, brown it and throw a bit of the spice/seasoning over. If you want extra front of mouth heat, put some big bits of chili in here as well.

Scrape beef and bits into heavy bottom pan, de glaze frying pan with splash of jack, pour that in the heavy pan. Put frying pan in water now to save cleaning.

Rest of spices to adjust flavour. Simmer more until super thick, this could be left very low for half a day if need be. Occasional dab of water in if it's gone too thick too early.

Sour cream dollop on top when ready. Apply to rice.

Eat.

I do use beans in mine. Either baked beans or kidney, but when I do it's for on nacho's and is covered in cream and guacamole, needs extra in it for filling the consumer.

<nowiki>*</nowiki>Why the J-Lo? It allows for a more controllable and sustainable heat to be spread through the entire mixture, no sticking or hotspots to burn it. A LeCreuset is a tad expensive but worth it for things like this.

According to the rules, you have to do an extended skill test in order to upgrade skills. I think that's a needless level of detail, so we shall have none of that silliness here. Just pay the karma, and get the skill.

==DIRECT COMBAT SPELLS==

The removal of GM prompted 'net hits on target' to remove a step from spell combat. Joose and HereComesPete decided it offered too much insight into the skills of the target and removed some of the guesswork inherent in the spell casting process.

You the Mage pick your spell force and roll your magic + spellcasting +/- modifiers and generate a number. This number can then be used wholly or partly to up the damage value of your spell, it also ups your drain value as a result.

No matter how well you roll, you can only add dice up to the force the spell was cast at.

'''E.G.''' Roman, his manabolt and a rather exceptional roll of 9 hits.

He chose force 6 so the drain is 6/2 = 3. He then rolled Magic 5 + Spellcasting 5 - 10 dice and he got 9 hits. Because he chose force 6 he can then add up to 6 of his 9 hits to the damage value of the spell.
If he adds all 6 then the damage value would be 12 and the drain would be 9.

If he had chosen force 9 for his spell he would have the option of adding all of those 9 hit dice to the damage value but would of course have to resist the drain too.

As the rulebook never covers enhanced senses in any great detail, merely announcing them and then leaving it with the only attempts to cover them being buried in errata pages and critters books a problem ensues. Dumpshock is consulted, the brains of Joose and HereComesPete are applied and thusly the following ideas were formed -

The maximum modifier to the senses will be a +/-4. These situations are extreme - an eco-shaman trying to find focus amongst the toxic outflow of a AAA corp will suffer a -4. Trying to focus in some ancient elven forest however would see them get +4 (and maybe a sharp blade in the back from a leaf eater).

Generally the modifiers are going to sit around +/-2, some of these enhanced senses can of course be negated with various methods. If someone with natural hearing enhancements spends too much time in noisy places it'll adversely affect them, so they can wear earplugs.

When using less lethal specialised rounds such as stick and shock, the upped damage value generated by called aimed shots is capped to stun damage so physical damage on the target isn't applied and consequently lethal. This is to allow for exceptional rolls to not be super effective and end up killing the target where the intention is to merely disable or disorient.
