I dunno, valve owning EA might be a good thing.

I don't think either of them would attempt a buyout on the other, anti-competition types might not like that.

This is good. EA do make some good games, but their electronic distribution system is a pile of pants and they have a bizarre love affair with shite DRM. Steam should alleviate both these problems.

I wonder how many people are glad they paid extra for their EA download insurance though?

What would be really nice would be a massive battlefield pack on steam, I'd happily pay, ooh, £30 for all the games in one place.

Nambeef had its good points (manpads, playing music out of vehicles, picking up jeeps in helicopters), but it's really missing the achievement system and apparently it's a bit one-sided. Nice atmosphere though.

Those EA bastards won't remove the DRM, it would be too easy to pirate a DRM-free version then.

AFAIK the games are DRM free.

I'd guess it's not COMPLETELY free of DRM. Since it's fucking Mass Effect there is no reason for a fucking internet connection to be active.

Honestly, I kill my PC and spend the rest of the weekend curled up in a ball on my sofa after contracting a nasty bout of flu and things like this happen. Blimeh.

Now they've made EA games available almost everywhere.

Apart from the uk and japan. (though they're working on that, apparently)

Of course, this happens a week after I buy Need for Speed at the store...

At least it's not EA's online thingy, where you rent your game for an extortionate amount.

Excellent. I shall obtain Red Alert 3 in January then. (for some weird reason it's only available then)
