I got a new LCD TV last week and also fancied a bit of old school Mario on the SNES but when I plugged it in the screen was jumping up and down rendering it unplayable. Anyone else had this problem and/or know of a solution?

have you tried selotaping it down, or perhaps putting some heavy books on top of it?

How are you connecting it?

With the standard coax-type cable that old consoles have and also the scart connector from my gamecube, using the multi-out on the SNES.

Try looking for some settings to change the frequency of the TV, you'll probably want it on 50 and might mess up if on 60 or 100hz

Unfortunately it doesn't have any options like that, it's a fairly basic model for my bedroom.

Did you try running it through something, like a VCR or similiar appliance?

did you try duck tape?


seriously tho, have you got the adapter to use composite video & audio cables instead of the RF cable?

I do, it came from my gamecube and works fine with the CRT in the front room but has the same problem on the LCD.

This idea sounds workable, I'll give it a go.

Using an old VHS has got it, thanks everyone.

Coax out of the SNES and into the VHS, then scart out of the VHS. Also opening and closing the menu to get the screen to calm down. Not pretty but it works.
