5punkers have complained to me about the excessive bunny-hopping-noob-tubing faggotry that's been going on the last week or two.

The people who have complained are <i>not</i> the kind to complain a lot, i'm not gonna name names.

All you're doing is hurting 5punk - If 5punkers refuse to play cod with us because of this (which they are), we have a very, very big problem, Please try to understand this.

This is not a matter of possible in the game or not, you're pissing 5punkers off and stopping them enjoying games with us, your continuing to do it is <i>distinctly</i> un5punky and it has to stop.

I have to admit it started to annoy me last night, although that's not why I left. Traditionally 5punk has been a bunnyhop-free zone, and certainly in BEEF it was enforced with kicking if need be. I'm not sure why COD4 has got to the point where it seems to be the norm.

Personally the way I see it is that it's fine in TEEF because the game is designed for that style of UTesque combat, but most games try to put mechanisms in to stop it and for a good reason. Given the choice between having to enforce a no-hopping rule and seeing 5punkers not want to play I'd go for the former.

I agree, I find the bunnyhopping/noobtube combo to be highly irritating, and pretty un5punky to boot. Jumping is a tool to scale obstacles such as small walls and steps, and the grenade launcher is a ranged weapon. They don't need to be used in conjunction, and certainly not as the standard attack.

There are genuine times when someone gets killed by someone who happens to be making a legitimate leap, or someone who had the twattube out for a long-range shot and happened to see someone at their feet suddenly, but the deathcam makes it patently clear when this is the case.

I've already discussed this with Berk and will put a cap on my noob-toobery. I'm pretty damn sure I don't hop like a twat when I use it but I apologise in case I have done in the past.

I concur completely.

I have to be honest, it's really been bugging me lately. The grenade launcher I don't mind, but if I want to see someone hop around all over the place I'll go and watch gymnastics (well, I'd have one more reason to watch it anyway).

The only defence I've heard people come up with for bunnyhopping is "well it's not really an exploit and doesn't give you any distinct advantage". My question then is, why do it?

As someone said the other night, it's never really been the 5punky way to tell people how to play a game - but when it starts to infringe on other people's enjoyment then I think the point needs to be raised.

I've looked into this already, it's not possible without making the server unranked, so it's not really an option.
