This movie is simply hilarious. Basic plot is Jack Black is paranoid who erases all the VHS tapes in his buddy's video rental shop. To fix it they start remaking the films home-movie style. Absolute brilliance. Jack Black and Mos Def make a great team, and Michel Gondry does an amazing job putting it all on film. I particularly love their takes on Ghostbusters and Rush Hour 2. Funniest movie I've seen in a long time.

I really want to see this as I'm a big fan of Gondry, but I've still not gotten round to it yet and fear I may have missed it now. :(

As a movie nerd I love seeing my favourite films spoofed in other movies, and you just mentioned my favourite. I'll have to look this one up.

You've also just reminded me that we talked about making a home version of The Hobbit when I was in the Falklands. The terrain's perfect, there was an abundance of people to play Gollum, and we were going to try and blag the Chinook crew to play Smaug for us :)

Course then we just got drunk and didn't do anything.

I really want to see this. Not a huge fan of Gondry; gave on The Science of Sleep half way through but Eternal Sunshine was good.
