Why Curse?

Aim:

Move to Curse and join up with Eternal Rising [316]. Assist ER in Hale constellation shooting UNL, TCF & RSF and seek targets of opportunity in the Heaven (Doril) and JZV (IAC home) constellations.
Eternal Rising are intending to take and hold the Hale constellation (northermost constellation in Curse) from UNL, who currently reside there. This not only provides excellent, easily defensible ratting grounds within jump range of empire, but also is a perfect place to conduct raids into Coalition and RedSwarm Federation's backyard. The plan is to create havoc in their home systems, forcing them to react and dragging some of the pressure away from the main frontline. It's pretty much what we intended to do in IS-R but a slower, more gradual process. And because it's NPC regions, there's no POS warfare to worry about unless we choose to do it.

So expect to be working with ER a lot. Hell, if worst came to the worst and we got fed up with BUM, they'd happily welcome us into their Alliance :)

Werd! Plus there is the added benefit for our carebears to do missions for the Angels and Serpentis :)

Indeed. And you'll be glad to know that Eternal Rising [316] have recently recruited a lot of US people, so there'll be stuff all round the clock. They'll also be clearing this area of POS over the next few weeks, so if you want to help them with dreads and/or carriers I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

So basically, there'll be BUM bumming around pew pewing, or 316 around G-0 pew pewing, both of whom will be available to join up with and play.

I think I'm going to be a happy bunny here :D

So to help avoid the Doril/Sendaeya/nearby system mess I was thinking of going thru the Great Wildlands (it's like Curse in that it's got NPC systems) then down to Curse.

Does anyone have expierence with any of the following systems:

Gye >> Nakah >> Unazin >> N-DQ0D >> HLW-HP

That's how I was looking to get to Curse. It's one jump longer than my direct route to Curse and it doesn't take me thru the killzone on my middle jumpoint. My main concern is getting a Cyno alt to any of those positions. I'll be setting up shop in those station systems as well to have a guaranteed chain out if need be.

Anyhow, i'm up for any input you guys would be willing to provide, thanks!

If you can get through Goons, CA, -V-, UNL, TCF, RA and all the pirates in GW, I'd say go for it ;)

narf, GW won't be much better than Doril. Give Jimmy a poke when you next see him online. He'll know where 316 have their cyno's and probably be able to help you out a bit. It's something the alliance will have to work on, cos we're going to need to move a lot of stuff down.

your rational of 0.0 missions and carebear needs a little work. also leaving bum to me is unacceptable. either resolve the problem or bum folds from within. I do not want to see a bum alliance without 5punk leading the way and our frizi calling shots. anything else is unacceptable to me.

Don't worry DP. We won't go anywhere until there's no BUM alliance left to be in, if it ever came to that.

I don't get what do you mean about the missions? Seems to be a ton of agents around here and plenty of people mission running.

I'm guessing that Dolly is looking at standings about running missions there, but not sure. Also, I would think it would be a little different flying missions in low/no sec, as you have to think about the possibility of pirates hopping in on you as well, besides just the damage the mission deals you. Might make a difference for tanking/fits and such.

Just my 2 isk.

There's a discussion on avoiding getting ganked while mission running in low sec / 0.0 over on the alliance forum somewhere. iirc correctly it boiled down to;

1. You are very difficult (but not impossible) to scan down while you are in a deadspace (something about the aura created by a time distortion field, I don't know tech stuff <--spot the quote...)
2. only loot if really necessary
3. Mission in something nimble, fast and (ideally) disposable

carebear by definition means you like high security empire, hence 0.0 missions and carebear conflict.

for me I won't be in curse for various reasons.

1) I make tons load more in my CNR of death running my agents now.
2) Those npc don't like me too much
3) I refuse to take my CNR out there to run missions
4) Going with Red is a possibility but probably not since I have plans to invade BoB land and run missions with her
5) pirate LP store is not really all that except the ships (serps and angel unfortunately I meet 0 pre-requirements)
6) don't have the RL time to up and move (main one)

0.0 missions I myself would run in this manner. AF for lvl 1-2, HAC for lvl 3-4, BS is just not an option, this also screws over the solo mission runner on lvl 4's unless you got a gang going, it's possible just take forever.

ps

hmm just thought of something, i've been getting kenny up to higher R&D agent by running lvl 4's with dp in his passive shield tanking myrmidion. let me get home and check his standings I may send him out there in that. for those asking why I am passive shield tank on a gallente bc just try it out, I can solo 80% of lvl 4 in it but it does have the drone issue and mission probers. we'll see

Apparently fitting ECCM increases your signal strength making you harder to probe, or something. Jon hawks was babbling on about it.

I have plans for a Cerb for mission running, when I can use t2 heavies.

Not true. Shit ton of carebears in 0.0 (See also: ISS). Not exactly an important details though :P

And everyone knows the Myrm passive shield tanks better than the drake, despite what the ship bonus might suggest. Bloody gallente

And not to put too fine a point on it:
Dolly Parton wrote:your rational of 0.0 missions and carebear needs a little work.
Plenty of other's who might want to mission run out here and may even have the standings to do so (I know of at least one person who has, tho sadly he's not in the corp anymore).

well as my forum thingie shows I am CAREBEAR! ISS are just lost people who think they are carebears is all. If the carebears in Eve united we would out number ISS and destroy them, but like you said go do missions out there but don't title yourself as carebear cause your not, (in my view) you're a 5punker and thats better then a carebear.

anyone kow who owns the gurista npc systems?

Wow.. I just saw the killmail today and it has Jimmy with the Killing blow... and he's in ER?!?

Why did Jimmy leave 5punk? Is this an expierement to see how they operate?

A carebear is someone who is unwilling to take risks and wants and easy life.

There are some people who are happy to take risks with cash but still refuse to put ships and clones on the line; they are no less carebears, because deep down they just fear the humiliation of losing a fight.

Don't make the mistake of assuming carebears live only in Empire.

Jimmy hates us and hates 5punkorp so he left to go and play with his 'friends'. We hate him now too*
