I listened to the first half on the train this morning and will listen to the second half tonight. First half was good though, was twitching with silent laughter next to a concerned stranger so that's a result in my books!

Finished listening now and I thought it was pretty good overall. Props to Wiggy for his audio editing efforts. A shorter one would be preferable, approaching 90mins is a loooonng podcast and it meanders a bit towards the end. For the article type section it'd be best to check the facts you're planning to state or you going to alienate the listener(s).

I want to play Fallout 3 again.

Is this the game that someone mentioned? - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sword_of_Fargoal
There's a iPhone remake which is supposed to be good and I've purchased.

I think i mentioned it. I picked up the iphone remake when it was free for a day and it was a pretty good example of how developers can keep audiences interested past the point of getting bored with a purchase in a similar way to how minecraft continues to add new elements that keeps the community involved.

The point i was trying to make is that constant and/or episodic free updates and patches, opposed to paid expansions, keep more people interested in a game.

Well done chaps!

Took me 3 sessions to listen to it all but did enjoy it, although I almost joined in a couple of times, would have been a bit odd had I shouted 'HORSES!' or something at work though

Think it definitely needs to be shorter, 1 hour max I'd say, I liked the randomness but with the backup topics to bring it all back in line.

Maybe it was a bit too much like a 5punk TS conversation for external ears though, would be good to get non-5punk opinions.

The odd bit of non-gaming stuff is good but I'd be wary of going too far off on a tangent if the target audience is gamers.

i listened to it all over a couple of days and i think my faviroute part was the stuff about and paper rpg's to me it seemed like the most naturally funny part

i think a good subject for another episode could be the merits of pen and paper games to digital games and visa versa

also another thought that i had after listening would be to have either 1 very broad subject matter to discuss or a few (3-4) fairly related topics rather than just a long list of different stuff just about gaming in general, could help it flow a bit better

Finally listened to this last night.

Pro's

- none of it sounded shit, no huge silences or nervous laughing etc. I imagine some fine editing by Wiggy helped.
- genuine lols more than once.
- very natural speaking from most in general, flowed nicely (again I think thanks to wiggy).
- The mix of rambling chat and direct topic covering I think was nearly perfect.

Con's

- Grimmie, I think you need to be a bit more forceful on pushing the intended conversations to the fore. When we had a chat last night you mentioned this and didn't want to seem un-spunky by doing so. Generally we only get shit organised when someone does grab the reins and shout a bit. I don't think that's un-spunky, more of a necessity.

- I think some people got too shitfaced and talked over the others a lot. Detracted from the quality imo.

- Occasional mic in teeth noises and rustling of paper, plus the occasional I've wandered away from my microphone moment.

- I think this would work better being shorter, but at the same time I can't see it being edited to a lower time without detracting from the quality. So perhaps cover less topics per 'cast but release them more frequently?

Also - You totally didn't mention the dragon age 2 trailer properly! It did however lead to some very good conversation about classes in rpg's.

So when is the next one?

And I also think a more masterful Grimmie (or whoever) would be a big help.

I'm happy to have another go and be a bit shoutier.
This Saturday's off bounds for me, as is next saturday unfortunately.

Anyone fancy giving a Friday a go?

My 5pudcasting times are now limited to non-family times, so no more 8:00 starts for me. After 10 on a friday or saturday I can more likely do.

My weekends are all pretty much out from now until the end of October I'm afraid, but I'd love to do more of these once I'm able.

I rather enjoyed last time. If you want me back, I have some topics that I would like to discuss.

Have we a bit more of a schedule this time then? Limiting the time to make editing easier and the end product shorter, for example? I made a few notes for future topics too.

* Grimmie gets a special Don't interrupt button and a I'm talking button.
* We choose one main gaming topic, and a backup if we run out of tangent power (which seemed to be popular)
* We choose something else from one of the other boards, entertainment, hardware, general etc
* Set a soft time limit of one hour's recording, to be trimmed roughly in half
* Produce shownotes for us to refer to to avoid mid-recording link searching
* Produce shownotes afterwards to provide links to listeners in some sort of structured list
* Instrumental intro/outro

Someone suggest a question for the 'introduce yourself' section at the start.
Game related or non game related.

You could use the obvious: "What's your favourite game and why?" or "Why's your favourite game?".
