I'm not too fussed about stats, its just when you get killed, revived constantly for a round its not fun, i tried to make a run for it when i figured out what they were doing but i got killed again and again and the whole process repeat ed itself.

I'd admit that i have gone for a knife badge myself, but that was done playing fairly taking many rounds of play to achive rather than through cheap exploits.

The raping for stats completely destroys fun for anyone else, Though for them i guess they must get a real hardon doing it, maybe its the only way they can.

deject wrote:I see only one problem with your viewpoint. Stat padding demeans everyone else's achievements. Because so many of these people get their Expert Knife Badge through stat padding, when you see that someone has it, you have to wonder if they got it legitimately or werejust stat padders. I wouldn't care otherwise, but when I earn my badges and medals, I'd rather not some losers get it by basically farming points instead of playing..
Perhaps because my achievements are so pathetic I attach less value to them, also it should be evident fairly quickly when playing with people whether their stats are earned or not.

Some people would consider stat padding and grinding in an MMO indisinguishable. Some people just always cheat, at everything. Some find a way to get a good score and do it over and over. I'm sure people stat-pad all the time without people noticing just by being a bit more subtle about it.

You will know you earned everything fairly, no-one else will know, unless you're the sort who would print out little replicas of your medals and pin them to your chest, I can't see why you'd care.

I understand why it annoys you though.

I think the annoying thing here is the way in which you are utterly powerless to do anything and keep getting killed, not the fact they are cheating to earn stats

Can you still get revived if you horse a suicide from the map screen? I've never tried it.

I think your body will disappear, but I haven't tried it.

Also, while I agree the stats are pretty pointless, if there there why not keep them honest?

I've always been against multiplayer games that keep an overall "score", it often leads to a lack of fun and increased number of people being assfaces.

my only interest in ranks and badges is a means to unlock the weapons upon promotion. The requirements for the higher promotions means silly knife / roadkill / repair badges.

I'd bet if the ranking system was abolished, the twatishness behaviour would cease.

twatishness behaviour will never cease in online games. You can only quash local disturbances with solid admins.

local disturbances -> shoot at friendlies if they don't give you a lift, Park tanks at jet spawn spots to make sure no one can get the jet. Forming queues to take turns on the spawning jets or helis rather than buying a copy of microsoft flight sim.
