How determined are you to get it playable?Dog Pants wrote:However, my gaming time's being taken up mostly by weeping gently onto my keyboard as Oblivion stutters unplayably.
Go through this and try everything

I did it for Doom 3 when I had a card that wasn't even close to being able to run it properly and got it playable

Sorry how rude of us. HL1 mods.Woo Elephant Yeah wrote:I still have absolutely no idea wtf this thread is about![]()
Anyone care to explain?
TFC = Team Fortress Classic - the origin of various game modes and classes, one being based around two opposing forts, another being the Hunted mode which is the predecessor of the VIP mod we sometimes play on CSS. The oilrig map originally came from there.
DMC = Death Match Classic - sort of a Quake 1 mod for HL, complete with groinallly-attached rocket launcher and some supposedly classic maps.
Boxwar = Everyone's a box. The levels are festooned with boxes. Unfortunately whenever I played it, the "human" boxes were usually spacking out, making them rather easy to spot.

Possible the maddest mod we ever played was PS07, or Surprise, which you may be able to get here - it was full of all sorts of weird stuff in the last version we played (0.2b) - crazy super-destructive guns, jetpacks and lots of models ripped out of other mods.
I did make a few maps for it once, I remember one based on the Q2 level with the conveyor belt with boxes on, as without "proper" spawn locations you had to use the cheats to try out most of the weapons.
