Arma2 Server.

Post by Dr. kitteny berk »

We has one. using a lovely custom tweaked domination mode (cheers friz!)

Is set to persistent, so it'll run until we win, or get bored and start over, should be able to jump on and play at will.

There's free goodies in the hangar.

IP: 31.132.1.5 (or just felcher for 5punk)
Pass: The usual one.

ArmA2 just hit the Steam sale. 15 squids for Combined Ops and 4 quid for BAF DLC (don't bother with PMC, it's rubbish)

Yes, quite.

It would have been alright in the day time and could have cleared in a couple of minutes, but it turns out that the spetznas shooting fab and myself to bits came across the runway. Said runway has lights on it which blinds NV. They could see me but I couldn't see them.

There are some addons to fix the NVGs if you pick up the full game, I think they work without modding the server too.

Maybe worth editing the server time a bit more on the next run though, I think it's UK-4 or 5-ish right now.

There are a few client side only addons knocking about - graphics and sound packs mainly. AI overhauls will work on all AI in single player but only on AI in your team in MP, which is largely pointless. I've set up the server to allow people to join with different mods (on public servers this leads to the sort of hacking, botting and cheating you'd expect). Unfortunately most of them require Op Arrowhead or CBA (a scripting addon which comes with ACE2). Most sound mods should work ok though.

I've just chucked the server a restart, I think I arsed up a setting before, meaning wrecked bonus vehicles got deleted after an hour, which is shit given our particular style, so I've set it to never delete them.

Hopefully this'll work better.

Oh good. I may have wrecked a fancy helicopter last night. I did better running people over in a hummvee than I did with that thing.

Oddly, I spawned as a Russian the other day, don't quite know how unless one of the squads (Echo?) is one of the BluFor CDF.

Just nipped around the base and made us something approaching cover for the spawn point.

It's by no means perfect, but it might stop a few bullets.

I'm game. Anything that'll go towards not having the base crawling with Speznatz every time I log on. You'd think they'd have more people to defend an airfield that big.

Also, last night I flew about collecting wrecks and bringing them home, like a big flying kitten. I don't know how to repair them though.
