Dungeons and Dragons Online

There are a few of us playing this now, so I thought I'd best stick up a thread. Download the client from the link above (two choices: low res at 3gb; high res at 4gb), log in and play for free.

We are currently on the Khyber realm/world/server. No guild yet, no idea how to make one. Names as follows:

Roman - Illidya Volyova - Cleric (Warpriest)
Dog Pants - Hond Broek - Rogue
Sheriff - Sherfy - Paladin
Friz - Friznit - Pinkadin Hamtoucher
FJ - FJ - Tempest
Berk - Bumm Toucher - Warrior
Pete - Goldbum Dragonsbelm - Elementalist
Shot2bits - ilswich gimps - Bard
Joose - Wiub Ivuagr - Ranger
Jockgit - ValuWhisky Tescotime - Whirlwind Fighter
Wiggy - Ghey Lord - Ranger
Grimmie - Diepvain Thrombosis - Monk (Font of Healing)
Pnut - Hugofirst - Mexican Dwarf

Actually I'm not sure what Friz's character is called, but it's as good a guess as any.

Tip: when looking for a friend to add, just use the first name.

I've found the first two levels (which take quite a while, but you get little ranks within them to spend talent points) to be not too bad. The game's been geared more towards solo play with dungeons having the choice of difficulty levels on entry, one stating it's appropriate for solo. Combat is a little more involved than normal WoW-alikes in that you point at your target and whack them rather than selecting them and watching, although mechanics wise it's still the same really.

It's definately more Warcraft than paper D&D though, hacking through piles of monsters and hunting bear's arses. Not as much though, and the nice puzzles and (for me) traps and stuff make a change.

I can make us a guild whenever you want. All my other characters are on Thelanis which has a more broad spread of time zones, so might be better for us Euro's, but no matter.

Name suggestions!

And this is a useful thread about rolling new characters.

Funny how I can think of dozens when I'm bored at work, but nothing springs to mind now.

I Love Horses has been formed. I grabbed the name quickly in case anyone had the same idea. If you'd prefer something else, it's vereasy to change.
