Coming back to EVE

Post by Dolly Parton »

/me bum

Well folks after a few years beating down trolls and dragons with Aki I'm ready to fly around and shoot things again. I'm currently trying to get my old characters back but if not I'll start a new avatar.

I can't believe it's been 3 years since last time I flew around. Maybe I become a pirate or something lol

So whats everyone up to these days?

Holy crap monkies, it be DP! Welcome back old fella.

I think I'm the only one still playing from around here and I'm not hugely active right now because I've just moved house and still sorting shit out. I log in most evenings though, albeit briefly. You'll see one or two old 5punkorp types kicking about but X-5punkers is pretty quiet these days.

5punkorp is still there, under an absentee Dres directorship and one of my alts holding the CEO position (actually it's one of Aki's alts, but Akiakaiu is now under my command in game and titan bound - he still has Akiki if he comes back though).

So yeah, hop into X-5punkers and I can sort you out with stuff to get you going again.

I still kick around a bit. Log in most everyday to at least play the market. Hope to see all of you on someday.

Jack.

I'm currently living deep in wormhole space, shooting the pretty and tough sleeper ships. Also going to try P.I. stuff since the wormhole planets are utterly stuffed with resources

This is the second time I've spent a stint in wormhole space, and I'm enjoying it a lot. Every day we have new neighbours to shoot at.

Another 5 day trial AND a new ship?

Sign me up!

(Although, I'm now downloading a 2.6gb client at 30kbps. Probably will have run out of gametime by the time the download finishes).

5punkorp actually has a couple of people in it, so you're welcome to join.

I've just moved out of IT Alliance( ex BoB) cos they were shit, to Initiative (ex PURE) cos they're British. Seem like a good bunch.

My god, ignorning the pretty side of it first, EVERYTHING has changed.

I might actually pay for a months sub so I can grapple with it.

What's changed for the average non-corp player, on the small-scale?
All of the updates I see tend to be about massive wars between alliances or working in teams.

Well, considering I've not played since approx 2008 (that's my last dated eve-mail) and I've got a ship fitted out as a salvager (and a big box of salvage in a hanger), quite a bit.

I've only just touched the surface as I was only on for 30 mins last night, but lots of the UI has changed and been expanded. New skills, ships, modules.

Tech 3 is out. All the anomolies and all that jazz is new, when I left there were just the deadspace areas for PVE missions.

Lots more stats.

Overheating.

Yeah, I'm going to create a new char and run through the tutorial methinks so I can get a handle on it again.

I'd forgotten just how fun Eve can be PvP wise. Honestly, I was busy minding my own business and mining some plagioclase when I got jet can flipped.

However, he wasn't expecting me to return in a 20km scam fitted Vexor as I think he thought I was botting.

Still:

He knew you? Glad to see he had his Rifter kitted out for in-your-face though. If it's over 500m you're a puff.
