If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

On the subject of HDDs though... Do we not use that lovely little jumper to dictate either master, slave or cable select? I'm sure thats what I've done in a couple of PCs I've added to.

Am I out of date here? Normally I am. Or just talking bollocks.

I don't think it matters. Just as long as you've got the master jumper set on the drive with the OS installed and slave on the other, it's fine, or it is on mine at least.

master and slave should be set properly on PATA drives.

the nearest to the mobo is always master.
