Character Creators
A decent character creator is a joyous thing. Sprog has been playing about with World of Warcraft and I've noticed that she spends more time creating characters than actually playing them. So I've been thinking about good ones I've found. City of Heroes has got to be the holy grail of character creators I think. So many awesome, hideous creations. Saints Row 3 had a great one too. Oblivion's had potential but everyone ended up looking like a sex doll for some reason. And not in a sexy way.
Anyone else thinking of a creator that's fantastic, or terrible?

Guild Wars 2 has a pretty nice character creator, I think?

Re: Character Creators
I'm trying to think of one that comes close to City of Heroes, but there's nothing.
I think the problem with a lot of character creators is that it's almost irrelevant what you create, as half an hour down the line it's all going to be hidden by armour and whatnot (which itself changes every time you upgrade). Dragon Age Inquisition was good for faces though. In cutscenes it would show you sans-hat so you could admire your monstrosity throughout the endless dialogue.

Fuuuuck. I'm reminded of YourMum, that grotesque monstrosity FJ created.

Re: Character Creators
I don't think much comes close to CoH, I think Chimps online had potential, but IIRC had some bullshit where you couldn't get most of it early on.
I think the issue is that most games with the potential for a character creator tend to be planted very firmly in a specific era/area so you only ever get stuff that fits reasonably well with the intent of the designers.
Hence, no flying magenta sex robots with robotic bras in skyrim.
The exceptions are modern games like CoH and Saints Row where the ridiculous and extreme costumes are completely within the realms of normal given the setting.

Chimps had a bit of potential, yeah. I was particularly pleased with Gabe R.

Re: Character Creators
Eve:O has one of the better creators I've found for creating realistic looking people.
It's not very good for creating oddities like it's original 2003-> ~2007 version was though.

DA:O
DA2
DA:I
not got around to making her yet - I haven't finished my first playthrough but I know there is a scene where you see your DA2 character at least, so want to make sure I get the right character imported through the thingy.

Warning:
Time and HD resolution have not been kind to Yourmum.
cfb
Now though, every cutscene is hilarious.

Re: Character Creators
YourMum is the pinnacle of character creation, FJ. Every time I set out to make a hideous creation I just give up because I know I'll never beat YourMum. I liked your dwarf too, Hesababy.
In bioware games I always found the character creation to be a bit lacking, mostly because my custom heroes look weirdly plastic and I always ended up going with the default Shepard/Hawke because of that. The creator in Dragon Age: Inquisition is a very good one however, my female dwarf actually looked distinctive without being too weird, I'll post a picture when I'm back home. And big kudos to bioware for giving you the option to give female dwarfs beards, but I sadly ended up not giving my dwarf one because all the beards on option were very prepubescent looking and I want a full, well-groomed beard damn it!
Most other decent character creators are already mentioned here, like Saint's Row. I can't really think of any other good ones right now.

Re: Character Creators
Aids of Colon had a boob slider. It was also capable of producing some mighty ugly people.
Re: Character Creators
Boob sliders are always a plus. In fact the more sliders the better.

Re: Character Creators
Edit for dwarf. Also, is there anyway to get a character portrait like you could in origins? If there is, I can't seem to find it.

Re: Character Creators
Had a look, but I cant find one either. In the process of looking I was going to grab a pic of my character, but I made such a boring generi-bloke it didnt seem worth the effort. I really don't think I took full advantage of the character creator in that game.
