Well after borrowing a mates second 360 for a weekend, I have decided to make the switch away from PC gaming.

It's just too costly in comparison to console gaming, especially as I'd need to build a new PC from scratch.

Thanks for the advice though, it helped a lot in me making my decision, but once I started playing COD4 & the Orange Box with a consistently smooth framerate, and I finally got use to the controller, I made my decision pretty easily.

Just need to wait till after friday when they drop the price to £159 for the Arcade (no point in a hard drive as I am only using the 360 on my 24" Dell TFT in the office).

Prepare to be shunned. :)

360 CoD4 is supposed to be very good online, if you're going to get XBL, which I recommend you do. But you can always get it later down the line though, along with a HD when you realise you could do with one.

360 Cod4 isn't as good as Cod4 PC though. Fact.

Not to mention you'll be mixing with xbox online fanbois (and chicken).

But, fair enough chap, as long as you keep gaming, we won't shun you too much.

Now, if you stopped gaming to I dunno, become a Morris Dancer or something.... :P

I very strongly suggest getting a hard drive with your 360. With one, you can use more Live Arcade games, game demos, and videos. The 20GB drive is pretty much large enough for everything except if you're downloading lots of movies. Of course you can always buy he hard drive later, though they're outrageously overpriced.

Unfortunately the PC version of the game wont run on the 360 and not all PC gamers are sweetness and light you know. There's a mixture of people on both platforms, ya big gayhead.

I have a few friends on the 360, one of which is part of a friendly "clan" so hopefully I can avoid most of the vocal idiots.

Other than my Steam games (I posted a message in the Steam forum) would anyone be interested in buying my PC game collection off of me. I know this is usually near impossible to sell due to people worrying about the CD keys, but I can guarantee I won't be using them anymore.

I have GRAW, COD, COD:UO, BF2 +BF2:SF, MOH mega pack thingy and a few others.

I can make a list later on if anyone is interested. Won't be asking for much more than a fiver for each narf.

To be honest, if you want numerous games I can probably do it a lot cheaper as I can save on delivery as I think it costs about £1.50 to send a DVD now unrecorded delivery. Cheques would be preferable as I no longer have paypal.

Let me know, if someone wants to buy a job lot, or half in one go then like I said I can do it a lot cheaper as it is less hassle for me. Most games that I have asked a quid for are quite old, and not worth much, but I said a quid to cover the extra delivery charge, but I can chuck them in if you need them.

Make me offers if you want, I won't be offended, just rather see them get some use than sitting on my shelf for the next 10 years.
:)

I think the whole lot comes to about £48 or something, I'd happily sell the lot at £40 or something for the hassle free factor

Any takers, I can throw extra games in if you need them?
Much rather sell them in one go for cheaper if anyone is interested.

Looks like I'll be buying a brand new 360 Arcade with Halo 3 chucked in now the price drop has happened.

In other news my 360 has started showing signs of giving in to the Ring of Fire syndrome. On the plus side this may mean I get a HDMI connection with the replacement.

Well I've had mine since Tuesday, and I must say that I am really impressed with the experience of Halo 3 already.

Probably helps that I'm playing with a bunch of friendly guys through a friend at work, but it's no different than a multi player experience on the PC, if anything it's a lot slicker and easier due to the balancing.

Probably not going to get another game for a while, I might just cane the crap out of Halo 3 until I get bored then maybe move across to COD4 as well.

Looks really good on my Dell 2405 monitor through the VGA cable. My gamertag is WooElephantYeah, and I'll update the list in the other forum.

I've got something to confess, I've been borrowing my brothers Wii for the past 2 weeks.

I like it.

Although Wii sports causes injuries fairly easily.

My one has has done the red ring of death thing. :(
But it's kind of expected and it's only annoying because I use it as my DVD/Divx player. And you can't really complain with a free fix.

I must admit, consoles look good but for gods sake, get a few people you know first, other than WoW, the PC gamers tend to be alot nicer than idiots on Xbox live.

I'm not so sure. I think the big difference is that so many people have comms through Xbox Live, whereas PC games voice comms all tend to eb done externally outside the game through TeamSpeak etc...

If everybody who plays PC games all used built in voice comms with the game (which is usually shite at best) I think you'd realise that there are still a lot of "South Park's" screaming in your ears.

After stating I didn't need a hard drive, Bungie decided that all their ranked playlists should include the now free Heroic Map Pack content, which meant I had to go out and buy one as it was over 400MB

Managed to pick up a 30GB for just £30 though, so worked out a lot cheaper buying the Arcade and hard drive separately than the Premium. :w00t:

I expect this is true. However, we do have the choice, so we only have to listen to Bubbles and Chicken.
