Silly screenshots

Post by Dog Pants »

I think I'll put this in a new thread. CoH has led to so much hilarity that I think I can get a few more lauchs out of this yet..

Night one

Image

Within seconds of entering the game I was wedging veteran superhero Ms Liberty inbetween my ample bum cheeks. A little molestation from Roman in front of the randoms at the starting point, and I was a fully fledged member of the 5punk Supergroup. Yay!

Night two

Image

Time for some missions. On our way to our first one we encountered this scantily clad young lady. She offended Berk's morals (yeah, I didn't know he had any either) by showing so much flesh, so we held a silent protest of holding up ratings cards until Roman couldn't handle any more and broke down in tears. We left her standing baffled. Into the mission and I find I'm missing the subtleties of 'drawing' 'mobs' as I let fly my battle cry of 'Bummers!' and hurl myself into the middle of the biggest group of gang members in sight, to the bemused sound of 'oh god, what's Dog Pants doing' over TS.

Night three

Image

But blurry this one because I've drunk beer since I did it. I remember finding some bloke in Atlas Park laying allsorts of funny thing on the ground with lights on, so I danced in the middle of them shouting 'DISCO!'. Oddly enough, rather than calling me a noob I had people joining in. Win! Later on Sherrif, Berk, Roman and I went out and battered some people. Some of us died a few times, some of us thought we'd died but hadn't. All very confusing. Less 5punky hilarity was had due to lack of alcohol I think - there's a lesson to be learned here.

This is one of the major highlights of CoH for me. In most MMO's, doing really daft things gets largely ignored, and given the occasional shout of "N00B!" In CoH, do something silly/wierd in a public place and sooner or later there will be a crowd of equally silly people joining in.

Notable highlights for me are the massive "7 party" in pocket D, and, more recently, a hueg snowball fight under atlas' bum.

in a similar vein, I quite often get random players making "hehe, nice costume!" style comments, which makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I cant think of anyone in WoW commenting on my appearance, other than the guy who said "lol, you're gear is gey".

Ah yes, the snowballs. I was trying to sort newest character out with Sherriff the other day when I was hit by a snowball. I ran over to the culprit and shook my fist at them and jumped about. A few seconds later I was hit by another one  I had to laugh really.

Ooh, Santa looks quite menacing. Nothing compared to the little bloke sticking out of your hat though.

Day four

Image

I find myself meeting up with a less powerful group of 5punkers tonigh, in the Pocket D nightclub. There we found a massive CDC on the dance floor, much to our glee. Later we went off rescuing people or confiscating weapons caches or something. I forget what, because I was a little over-powered for it so I spent much of my time dancing with the gang members we'd been sent to fight. In the morning I found one of their phone numbers in my pocket, but I'm not sure it was meant for me because it was from a guy called Lance to someone called Bear.

Day five

Image

We had lots of fun today. I met a big stompy clockwork robot called a Paladin while out and about in King's Row. He looked mean, so I told everyone else in the area about him in case they wanted to fight him. Laslo came over to have a word with him, but he must have upset him because the Paladin zapped him dead on the spot. A few more people were taking an interest in my new friend - Pedro, I called him - so I decided to arrange fights on his behalf.
A very powerful bloke decided he wanted to fight him, so I directed him over. It was clear pretty soon that Pedro wasn't for beating as he battered the chap around, cheered on by me. I put 50,000 influence on Pedro, but nobody took me up on the offer. Then Pedro killed this new guy and teabagged him (see photo).
Next was a group of five or six to take him on. I floated above them commentating, and despite being half as powerful as the last chap they managed to survive for quite some time. Eventually, after their continued pleading, I decided to join them and have a bash at Pedro myself - just to give him some sparring practice of course. Pedro remained undefeated though and the group were forced to repeat after doing nothing but damaging his paintwork. He's probably still there now, but we had other things to do so we left him wandering in the park.

Day Six

Image

After the usual routine of administering vicious beatings to gangs of street punks someone found (read: spawned) a Winter Lord - a massive, hard, extremely dangerous snowman. It can be seen in the picture above, and what made it remarkable was the fact that it had been spawned right next to the statue of Atlas (seen in the background) where brand new Superheroes enter Paragon City. We were anticipating much hilarity as greenhorns tried to take the thing on, but none did and eventually the 5punkers and about a dozen others managed to fell the beast.

Dog Pants' Log: Supplemental.

Star Date 31 Jan 06. First Officer Fatman reporting.

Today we went Arch-villain hunting. After five hours in the mission we found this chap. He seemed reluctant to engage in any manner of dialogue, so we were forced to pwn his clockwork arse.

Image

After that I decided to have a wander about with my 'Blapper', whereupon I stumbled across the Winter Lord. He greeted me in his customary manner; by freezing me to the spot and stomping on my head (his last victim can still be seen embedded in the soft, snowy pad of his foot). The results were predictable.

Yay! Damn my New Year celebrations - I missed the end of the Task horse mission and all I've got to show for it is a hangover.

In other news; I got Villains yesterday so I can get into the base now. I'm rather interested by building useful addons with all the salvage (or sausage as it's colloquially known) we've accumulated, but as Berk wisely pointed out I'm best off not tinkering until I know what I'm doing properly and I know the master plan. Joose, apparently you're the man in the know here so any chance of a crash course and some advice and direction - that's if you don't mind me getting involved?

you're correct on powerlevelling, and you can only pvp in some places.

Usually you just PL people by putting a level 10 in a level 40 team and letting them rake in XP.

Our Heroes and Villains are on different servers, so I don't think we could beat each other up anyway, which is a pity.
