Favourite Movie Intros

Post by Dog Pants »

Some movie title sequences are better than others. Some a brilliant. I saw the one below last night and it made me think of the brilliant ones. It isn't my favourite, but it had slow-mo, zombies, and good Metallica. What are your favourite intros?

I completely forgot how great that intro was, probably because I didn't like the rest of the film.

Now, I had to cheat a bit for my favourites because I always forget things when I have need of them.

I remember my personal favourite though, because I'd first seen it as a kid and I never forgot it since.

It's my favourite because even though it's just a voice over and some historic footage + scenes of the first film it sets the mood perfectly for what would later become the quintessential apocalypse film. Also, it's followed by this kickass chase scene.

Other favourites include:

no youtube video for this one, but:

And also,

Technically I only like the bit after the title sequence because it's just white letters in a black background but damn that's a great tune.

Yeah, Lord Of War immediately sprang to mind when I posted the thread. CGI's looking dated now though. Loving the music to Escape from New York. Classic 80s John Carpenter.

Lord of War intro is indeed ace.

I dont know why, but the intro graphics for Charade really stuck with me:

I think it might just be because I like that old school, abstract art thing and that is probably the best example of that style.

Bit longer than a classic intro, but...

and possibly cheating, though it's the start of the movie (ish)
