Xfire - what you need to know (PLEASE READ)

5punk will be using Xfire as it's program for tracking friends, instant messaging, and server browsers etc.

What is Xfire?
For those of you that have never used a tool like this one, it's basically an instant messenger, that tells you who's playing what game, and on what server, so that you can join them with the click of a button.


Where can I get it from?
Download Xfire from http://www.xfire.com and register your username. It's free too, so put our money away.


My username has already been taken!
Fear not! Xfire lets you change your screen-name to whatever you feel like. Just go to Tools > Options > My Nickname.


How do I get my forum posts to show my gaming statistics?
Simply click Profile up on the board menu and fill in the section named 'Xfire'.
Notice that you can also tell everyone your Xbox Live Gamertag if you have one, and link to your B3ta profile.


Now what?
Simply vist http://www.xfire.com/clans/5punk/ and add yourself to the list to have all the 5punkers on your friends list! It can take a while to process though- if you need someone's ID quickly you can look up their xfire username in their forum profile.
