Re: E3 videos
Im betting they will just make the PC versions cost 25-33% more than usual.FatherJack wrote:I bet the reverse isn't true given that console games inexplicably cost about 25-33% more.

Re: Overwatch.
Ive multiple times fired off my stun and missed, or missed the follow up shot, or hit then been shot by all my targets mates as I sit with everything on cooldown. Its a good combo, and its not super hard to pull off, but its not as easy as Bastions "m1, point at bad guys". Tracer is a piec...

Re: Overwatch.
They're gonna have to tweak their POTG system. I think this is a big part of the Bastion problem. The POTG puts too much emphasis on big group kills, so Bastion gets POTG a disproportional amount of the time and usually for boring looking things. They need to somehow factor in impressive displays o...

Re: Overwatch.
I've just had another thought about why I think Bastion isn't quite working at the moment. All the other characters for an intricate rock-paper-scissors pattern: like that PCGamer article says, they all have a couple of characters that will utterly ruin them and a couple of characters they can utter...

Re: Tales from Dwarf Fortress
Yeah, it was never the graphics that were the issue for me, it was the obtuse control system that insisted on absurdly set up keys for every damn thing. Stick a proper GUI with mouse controls and menus on it and I would have been fine with how it looked. Im fine with a game that is difficult to mast...

Re: Overwatch.
Bastion is a pussycat. This echos my thoughts on Bastion. Its not that he is OP, he just isn't very interesting. He is a bit dull to play as (set up, point forward, hold m1 till someone kills you) and he isnt that interesting to play against (swap to a character that can get behind him, shoot in ar...

I like the look of that. It is visually a bit "mobile game", but the opposite approach is Endless Legends: super pretty but reeeaally hard to parse.

Re: New season talk type thread thing.
Preacher has started on Amazon. Only 1 episode in, but pretty good so far (the Guardian have already proclaimed it the best comic adaptation ever, but no one listens to those fuckwits). Its pretty enjoyable, but what on earth are they basing "best comic adaptation ever" on? Its only one e...

Re: TV Show Mini-Reviews
The Shannara Chronicles It's me. The problem is clearly with me. Its not just you. I actually quite enjoy watching it, but I get a weird enjoyment out of some shows that are clearly, objectively bad, and this is one of those. Its predictable and really bloody stupid, but a way that makes me giggle ...

Re: Movie mini reviews
I saw Civil War over the weekend. Whilst I really liked it, I did leave wondering if it were originally intended as two films and they decided there wasnt enough to one of the films so they folded them together. There were two almost completely distinct plot threads going on, waaaay too many charact...

Re: Movie Trailers
Watched that over my breakfast. I like the look of the weird space warping moments. Doesnt really tell us a lot that people familiar with the character dont already know, but it does confirm that Binkybonk Cumblebumbs was a good casting choice, looks wise at least.

Re: New season talk type thread thing.
I can't be bothered with long TV series any more - you're pretty much guaranteed they're packed with filler, cookie-cutter episodes. I'd much rather they were short and contained. I think this depends on the nature of the show. Completely agree with you when it is something like the Mentalist. They...

Re: Rust server
OK, having looked at the server commands, how about this for a plan: 1) After the patch, reset the server to a new map 2) via console commands, give everyone instant building and huge amounts of wall building materials 3) leave it a day or so to build a giant metal wall to section off a safe zone 4)...

Re: Rust server
That would be a great idea, if creative mode in rust was an easy thing to achieve. It isnt.
How about using the different terrains as delineating points? Doesnt help with randoms, obviously, but it would be reasonably easy for us to have a "desert = safe zone" rule or something.

Re: Rust server
Or, simpler, just make the landmarks a rules free zone? Depends on how many people want pvp compared to those that dont really. If more people want killings then it would make sense to make most of the map dangerous with designated safe zones, but if more people want safety then you would want it th...

Re: Rust server
You could do it like EvE and its sec ratings. Like: Far east of the map, no killings at all. Between these two landmarks between the middle and the east, no killing when offline or in safehouses Between these two landmarks between the middle and the west, no killing when offline far west, all bets a...
