Re: Blood Bowl 2

There have been many inevitable sales, but the current one on Steam is 66%, putting the game down to a rather reasonable £11.90. So I picked it up with the equally discounted Lizardmen DLC, since they're my favourite / OP. Welf DLC is similarly discounted (£1.69), Norse is 33% off (£3.34), and Undea...

Re: Is it a good time to upgrade, bitches?!

Well I've ordered it (with some tweaks) - now just need to remember all my log in details for Steam and everything. What games (other than Rocket League) are popular these days? Mostly I've seen: Overwatch, B44F, Golf with your friends. On the subject of which, you might want to get your login for ...

Re: Elite Dangerous

It's a huge sandbox with only a couple of toys in it though. Most of the goals fall into "buy something" or "go somewhere" or some combination of both. Which obviously works for a lot of people, and I'm enjoying the lovely mechanics of doing those things, but I'd love it if there...

Re: Elite Dangerous

It took me a while, but I finished a salvage mission. I had to learn how to scan things, jump around the system a few times, got beaten up by a couple of bandits, repaired and upgraded my guns, finally got my salvage and a few extra goodies, got fined about c1200 for illicit cargo, and eventually go...

There's also no story, so it's something of a "grind ship, buy ship, grind next ship" treadmill.

Re: Elite Dangerous

With the Shada-catalysed resurgence I thought I'd use this thread to record our names and stomping ground. Mainly because I forget them. 5punk Squadron seems to be homed in Wohler Terminal in the Kremainn system. Don't know why, but it turns out I was only a couple of systems away. Whether that was ...

Rimworld is now on Steam. It's still pretty good. Like a space-Dwarf-Fortress, but not as complex (which is both good and bad).

Re: Movie Trailers

Rogue One is looking pretty dark for a Star Wars film. I've heard Disney made them re-film parts of it to make it a bit more kid friendly. Hopefully it keeps the war film vibe the trailers give it.

Re: Is it a good time to upgrade, bitches?!

Banged out a quick sub-£1000 gaming machine on OCUK's custom built service: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk-tech-labs-skylake-z170-midi-tower-gaming-pc-configurator-fs-007-tl.html#t=a15c1d3g,i,l;m4q4 From the default I swapped out the ugly case for a much more subtle and well thought of Corsair ...

Re: Movie mini reviews

Look Who's Back Hitler reappears in 2015 and people think he's a comedian. I really enjoyed this. The title is awful, the whole film is in German, and the message is obvious, but none of that detracted from it for me. It starts off as an odd couple comedy; Hitler is completely out of place in the m...

Yeah, I can live with that. Maybe one for Netflix, but it doesn't sound like it's going to defile my childhood.

Re: Mini Reviews

It perhaps isn't just you, but I think it is you to an extent. I'm enjoying it for its pace and straight forward gunnery. There's a bit of plot but it kind of happens as you progress rather than being horse fed. It has the old-school secret hunting, power-ups, and just plain old blasting of gribbly ...

Re: 5punky lolf

Not bad that. It's not going to replace Overwatch or Rocket League, but it's easy enough to get the ball to go where you want it to go and hard enough for it to go whanging clear over the top of where that was. It's crazy golf rather than Pangya's full-fat golf, so not that comparable really. Nice b...

Re: Spec me a solution to my outlook problems!

I just use web mail at home, but I've heard good things about Thunderbird for a unified mail client. In fact I've never heard about any other. It won't be Outlook, but if they want the Outlook 2010 GUI then they're going to need to buy Office (although why on earth they'd want that awful thing I don...

I enjoyed the Iceland game more. Those fans really showed up - apparently 10% of their population were there.

Re: Euro 2016

Fucking hell England. I'm really glad I was listening in on a presentation about performance management rather than watching that game. However, I did correctly predict the score. I thought the guys sat next to me were taking the piss when they told me scored in extra time. EDIT: Bollocks, turned ou...
